Every Brilliant Thing – November 14th

Every Brilliant Thing, by Duncan Macmillan, with Jonny Donahoe, is a one-person show that has been performed around the world since 2013. Performances through Theatre’s Edge in Goshen are scheduled to coincide with National Suicide Prevention month in September, and additional locations to be determined in Northern Indiana in November.  The play is described as:

• “A play about depression and the lengths we will go to for those we love.” (Dramatists)
• “Taking a candid and compassionate approach to the subject of suicidal depression, the writing manages to be both heartfelt and buoyant as it portrays a child’s experience of her mother’s suicide attempts. At the age of seven, the girl hopes that by making a numbered list of ‘every brilliant thing’ that makes life worth living, she can make her mother feel better.” (Guardian)
